Infrared, and what it is not

Carbon or ceramic panels warm the body directly while the air in the cabin stays at 45–60 °C. There are no stones and no steam, so it is not a Finnish sauna and we do not sell it as one. What it offers is a thirty-minute session that is ready a quarter of an hour after you switch it on, in a flat where nothing else would be allowed.

Body corporate, lift and circuit

Because there is no water, no drain and nothing fixed into the structure, an infrared cabin is usually the version a body corporate approves quickly. We supply the dimensions and the electrical rating for the application.

South African homes run 230 V single phase. A two-person cabin draws 1.5–2.2 kW, so it wants a dedicated circuit with an earth-leakage device, installed by a registered electrician who issues a Certificate of Compliance. Before confirming, we measure the lift car and the landing, because older Sea Point blocks can have very small lifts.

Running it on a Cape Town tariff or on your inverter

A forty-minute session uses about 1.3 kWh. On the City of Cape Town domestic tariff of about R4.14 per kWh for the first 600 kWh a month (2026/27), that is roughly R5–R6 a session; Johannesburg prices are in the same range.

At around 2 kW the cabin also sits comfortably within what a typical household inverter carries. Load shedding has ended, but the inverter is still on the wall, and scheduling an afternoon session into your solar production makes it close to free.

Highveld dry air, Cape damp

Joburg's dry winter air is kind to timber, and an infrared cabin there needs little beyond a monthly dust-down of the panels. In Cape Town and Hout Bay the damp winter matters more: the cabin belongs indoors, away from a window that streams with condensation, and on a covered balcony only if the balcony is genuinely dry.

Prices and delivery

Indicative bands: 28 to 46 thousand rand for a two-person infrared cabin, supplied and installed, with three- and four-person cabins priced from your layout. Each cabin is built and dry-assembled in our Istanbul factory, flat-packed, shipped to Cape Town or Durban and assembled by our crew in about half a day.
