What a visit includes

Sauna: stones out, sorted, turned or replaced, element resistance checked, thermostat and overheat cut-out tested, bench fixings tightened, timber cleaned, vents cleared.

Steam: generator descaled to an interval set by your actual water, probe cleaned, trap flushed, silicone checked, extract tested. Plunge: condenser cleaned, pressures read, cartridge changed, ozone cell checked, water tested.

Coastal visits add a corrosion inspection. Dry-season and harmattan visits add a dust inspection and a filter change. Highland visits are half-yearly rather than quarterly, because neither salt nor dust is doing much.

The spares kit, and why it exists

We leave a box on site at handover with the parts that fail most and their numbers written on them: an element, a thermostat, a filter cartridge, hose seals, an ozone cell where one is fitted, and a handful of A4 stainless fixings.

In a capital city that box is a convenience. On Pemba, La Digue, an outer island or a fly-in camp it turns a three-week wait into a ten-minute job — and import lead times across our markets make that the single cheapest insurance in the project.

Scheduled blocks, not call-outs

Nobody is flying to Praslin for a filter change. We service islands, the northern circuit, the parks and upcountry in scheduled blocks so several properties share the travel and the crossing, and we publish the dates so owners can plan around them.

Between visits, the spares kit and a trained owner or team handle everything routine. That arrangement is what makes a remote installation sustainable rather than a slow decline punctuated by emergencies.

Second lives

An old cabin with a sound shell is usually worth re-lining rather than replacing. We also retrofit the two things most commonly missing from other people's work: proper marine specification on a coast — replacing plated fixings with A4, enclosing and filtering plant, lifting a cabin onto a ventilated void — and a sensible circuit arrangement where a heater and chiller have been fighting an inverter.

That second retrofit is often the cheapest useful thing we do in a year, and it turns an abandoned installation back into a used one.
