We design and build heat and cold rooms across Tanzania — a coral plunge on a Michamvi deck, a hammam inside a Stone Town courtyard, a thermal deck at a Serengeti camp. Three climates, three specifications, and one workshop in Mikocheni that makes all of them.
A4 stainless on every fixing including the ones nobody sees, end grain sealed before assembly, a ventilated void under every cabin and a sealed filtered enclosure for the plant. In Stone Town add hand carry through lanes narrow enough to touch both walls, and a protected facade you cannot alter.
Ventilation is the main design decision on the mainland coast, and the logistics are the easiest in the country: everything imported lands twenty minutes from our workshop. A Dar project waits on trades rather than on shipping, which shows in the programme.
At Moshi and on the Ngorongoro rim a heater sized from a sea-level chart stalls below temperature. We correct it on your actual elevation — and then usually delete the chiller, because cold highland nights hold a lidded plunge by themselves.
