Heat and cold water, sequenced into the power you already run

We design and build heat and cold rooms across Nigeria — a cabin and plunge on a Banana Island deck, a terrace installation twenty floors above Victoria Island, a recovery zone for a Lagos gym. The room is the easy half. Placing a 9 kW heater and a compressor into an inverter, battery and generator system is the half most installers skip.

Why it is different here

The grid is not your supply, so the load has to be designed

Your inverter is the design premise, not an obstacle

Average grid availability was about 5,151 MW in December 2025 against national demand near 18,345 MW, which is why every house we quote for already runs an inverter, a battery bank and a generator. We size the heater and the chiller into that system: scheduled circuits, no coincident starts, soft start where the supply is marginal.

We check which circuits the changeover actually feeds

Twice in the last year we have found a plunge circuit on the non-essential side of the board — so the one appliance that needs continuity lost it at every outage and the owner blamed the chiller. We verify it physically and hand your electrician a load profile they can work from.

Lagoon salt and harmattan dust are two different failures

On the lagoon and in the delta: A4 stainless throughout, end grain sealed before assembly, ventilated voids, humidistat extract ducted genuinely outside. In Abuja and the north: washable pre-filters and a sealed housing, because a harmattan-blanketed condenser cannot reject heat at any capacity.

How we work

A workshop in Ikeja and a quote that shows the power work

Panels, benches, doors and sub-frames are made in our Lagos workshop, and every cabin is dry-assembled in full in the yard, photographed and numbered before it is taken apart for delivery. Two days there saves a week on a site where a lift is already booked.

Every quote shows the heater calculation, the chiller sizing against the ambient at your site, and separates the circuit and changeover integration, the exposure package and the services. If it is the slab, the drainage or the power work that makes your project expensive, you will see which line it is.

Our own workshop runs on the same arrangement we design for clients — grid when it is there, inverter and batteries most of the time, generator behind that, big loads sequenced. We are describing what we already do.

Questions

Nigeria: asked before every project

Will my inverter run a sauna?

Often, on a scheduled circuit. We work from your actual inverter, battery and array figures rather than guessing — and where the honest answer is no, we say so and offer an infrared cabin or a smaller cabin with a 6 kW heater instead.

What happens to the plunge when the grid drops?

Nothing, if it was designed properly. An insulated lidded tub holds temperature for many hours and the unit restarts by itself — provided the circuit is on the side of the board the changeover feeds, which we verify physically.

Can a plunge go on a penthouse terrace?

With an engineer's opinion on the slab, a checked or renewed waterproof membrane and a designed discharge, yes. Without the structural check we will not quote it at all.

Do we need a chiller in Lagos?

Yes, in every month. Nothing here cools to plunge temperature by itself. Abuja and Enugu give the machine slightly easier nights, but they do not remove it.

Does harmattan really matter?

It is the commonest cause of chiller failure we see in Abuja, and it is a filter problem rather than a capacity one. Washable pre-filters, a sealed housing and a shorter interval through the dry months.

How long does a project take?

Eight to twelve weeks in Lagos, a little longer for Abuja, Port Harcourt and the south-east. We order long-lead imported items first and do the groundwork and circuits while the container travels.

We are on borehole. Does that matter?

For a steam room, a great deal — borehole chemistry varies between houses on the same street and hard water scales a generator in months. We test at the property before specifying.

What is the payment schedule?

40% to start the drawing and order materials, 40% before delivery, 20% on commissioning.
