The heater is a load on a system, not a plug

Almost every house we work in runs a hybrid: grid when it is there, inverter and batteries most of the time, generator when it is not. A sauna heater is one of the largest single loads you will ever add to that system, and dropping it onto the wrong circuit is how a family discovers their battery bank's real capacity.

So we work from your actual figures — inverter rating, battery bank, generator size, existing base load — and we put the heater on a circuit that makes sense. Where there is solar, we schedule it into the solar window. Where there is a generator, we sequence it so the heater and the chiller never start together. Then we give you a consumption figure based on how you will actually use it.

This is the part of the job most other installers skip, and it is the part that decides whether the sauna gets used or quietly abandoned.

Lagos humidity, Abuja dust

On the lagoon and in the delta the air is humid and salty and nothing dries out on its own. A4 stainless fixings, end grain sealed before assembly, ventilated voids under every cabin and drained cavities — the specification is about giving moisture a route out, not keeping it out.

In Abuja and the north the enemy changes to harmattan dust between roughly December and February. Washable pre-filters, sealed plant housings and a shorter service interval through the dusty months. A cabin specified for one and installed in the other looks tired within two seasons.

Sizes, glazing and where it goes

From a two-person cabin at the end of a Lekki bedroom to a fourteen-seat commercial tier for a hotel. Glazing is where most of the design decisions land: a single glass wall facing the garden, or two meeting at a corner with no post so the corner disappears.

Every square metre of glass costs about 0.4 kW of heater, and on a system running off batteries that is a real number rather than a footnote. It goes in the calculation and on the quote.
