Home saunas for City Bowl and Sea Point apartments

The body corporate comes first

Any alteration in a sectional-title building needs approval, and anything involving water above somebody else's ceiling needs it in writing with a structural opinion attached. We prepare the submission and we do not start without it.

An infrared cabin is frequently the answer that gets approved in a week rather than a quarter, because it involves no water, no drain and no fixed installation.

Private saunas, not a public bathhouse

If you found this page searching for a sauna near you in the City Bowl or Sea Point: we build private saunas for your own home, not a public bathhouse you can book a session in. If you are weighing the two, our comparison of sauna session prices in Cape Town against owning a home sauna runs the numbers.

For a flat, the realistic formats are on our page of saunas for sale in Cape Town — usually a two-person infrared cabin or a compact Finnish cabin on a dedicated circuit — and the full picture of sauna prices in South Africa covers what the body corporate process and the electrical work add.

Lifts and stairwells

We measure the car, the landing turn and the door before quoting. Where a cabin will not fit through in one piece it comes in smaller sections with more assembly on site, which is a labour line.

Noise, which neighbours notice

A chiller on a shared-wall balcony will generate complaints. In apartments we either use no chiller at all, relying on Cape winter water, or we site the unit where its grille faces outward and away from any shared boundary.
