Infrared cabins for apartments and rented houses

What it is, and what it is not

Infrared heats you rather than the room: 45–60 °C, 1.5 to 2.5 kW from an ordinary socket, ready in twelve to fifteen minutes. There is no water on stones and no löyly, and we will not pretend otherwise — it is a different experience, not a cheaper sauna.

What it gives you in Africa specifically is a load a 5 kVA inverter carries without an argument, no drainage, no supply upgrade, no body-corporate submission and nothing fixed to a building you may not own.

Humidity and electronics

The one thing it dislikes is being shut in a damp unventilated room for months, which on a seasonal coastal property is a real scenario rather than a hypothetical. We site them in ventilated spaces, specify a cover for properties that stand empty, and put them into the shutdown routine where there is one.

Where it goes

The end of a bedroom, a wide corridor, a converted store or a covered balcony with a sheltered socket. Not open to lagoon or ocean air, and not in a room that stays closed for a season.

In Lekki, Oysterbay, Eden Island and Cairo's compound apartments it is the single most-installed thing we do, and for a tenant it is the only honest recommendation we can make.
