Infrared cabins for Cairo apartments

In a Maadi or Zamalek apartment there is rarely three-phase power, a spare drain or four square metres going free. An infrared cabin needs none of them.

Infrared cabins for Cairo apartments

What it is and is not

Infrared heats you rather than the room: 45-60 °C, 1.5 to 2.5 kW from an ordinary socket, ready in twelve to fifteen minutes. No water on stones, no löyly. It is not a Finnish sauna and we do not sell it as one.

What it gives you is a room you can actually have in a flat: no three-phase application, no flue, no waterproofing, no drain, and it comes apart and moves when the lease does.

Panels, wiring and the summer question

Full-spectrum carbon panels front, back and under the bench, with low-EMF wiring. In an Egyptian summer an infrared cabin is comfortable in a way a 90 °C room is not, because the air temperature stays moderate — which is why they sell well here between June and September.

Where it goes

The end of a bedroom, a wide hallway or a glazed balcony with a roof. Flat floor, ten centimetres of clearance behind for the cable and a socket on its own circuit. It must not sit in direct afternoon sun through a window.

In short

  • Ordinary 220 V socket, 1.5–2.5 kW, ready in 12–15 minutes
  • No drain, no flue, no waterproofing, no utility application
  • Moderate air temperature — the format that works best in Egyptian summer
  • Flat-packed, assembled in an afternoon, moves when you do
Questions

Infrared cabins in Egypt

Will it work in a hot flat?

Yes, and better than a conventional sauna in July. The air stays moderate; the infrared does the work.

Can it go on a balcony?

On a glazed or covered balcony with a sheltered socket, yes. Open to dust and sun, no.

What does a session cost?

About 1.3 kWh for forty minutes. Multiply by your tariff band — it is closer to a kettle than an air conditioner.
