Compact answers for older houses

Plots here are smaller and the houses often older, which means a modest cabin done well beats an ambitious one that never fits. A two to four person sauna, a compact plunge and a rinse point occupy about 8 to 10 m² and get used far more than a large installation squeezed into a corner.

Some of these houses have electrical boards that predate anything we would hang a 9 kW heater on. We survey the board before promising a heater size, and sometimes the honest answer is a smaller cabin rather than an expensive upgrade.

Infrared where nothing can be fixed

For apartments and rented houses an infrared cabin solves the whole problem: an ordinary socket, no drain, no supply upgrade, nothing fixed to a building you may not own, and assembly in an afternoon. In this neighbourhood it is the single most common thing we install.

Neighbours are close

Plot boundaries here are tight enough that a badly sited condenser is a genuine dispute. Plant goes on the house side, behind planting, grille facing away, on anti-vibration mounts. Quiet is a design decision, not luck.
