What happens here

Timber arrives, is conditioned in this climate rather than a dry one, and is cut, sealed and assembled into panels. Cabins are dry-assembled in full in the yard, photographed, numbered and taken down again before shipping, so nothing is discovered for the first time on a client's deck or on a ferry.

Sealing end grain before assembly rather than after is the single most important thing we do in this building. It is also the step most often skipped elsewhere, and it is why cabins fail on this coast.

Port proximity is the whole logistics advantage

Dar es Salaam handles the great majority of Tanzania's imported cargo, and being twenty minutes from it means heaters, chillers, generators and glass clear and arrive without an inland leg. Everything bound for Zanzibar, Arusha or the parks is consolidated here into single shipments, packed to a checklist and sent once.
