A private-island lodge is a logistics problem with a luxury brief attached. Everything arrives once, and whatever is forgotten stays forgotten for a fortnight.
One shipment, no second chances
The entire installation is consolidated at Providence, packed against a written checklist and shipped in a single load with a deliberate margin of fixings, seals and consumables. Cabins are dry-assembled beforehand so nothing is discovered on an island with no supplier.
We would rather over-pack by a box than be right by a bracket.
Self-sufficient plant
Most of these properties make their own power and water. Heater and chiller are sequenced so they never start together, the heater is scheduled into the solar window where there is one, and the plunge is sized to the water budget rather than the brief.
An insulated lid is an operating saving here measured in litres and kilowatt-hours, not a detail.
Trained staff and a spares box
Small maintenance teams, no supplier nearby. We specify simple robust serviceable equipment, train the team properly at handover, and leave a spares kit with part numbers on the lid. That box is the most valuable thing we leave on a private island.
