Saunas & cold plunges in Enugu

Enugu sits on hills at a few hundred metres, and the nights here are meaningfully cooler than anywhere on the coast — which changes the economics of a plunge.

Enugu, Nigeria

Cooler nights, a smaller machine

Elevation and distance from the coast mean the overnight ambient drops further here than in Lagos or Port Harcourt. A shaded, insulated, lidded tub holds temperature better and the chiller cycles less, so both the machine and its monthly bill come down.

The altitude is not high enough to need a heater correction — that begins much higher — so the hot side is a standard specification.

Hills mean slopes and access

A good number of the better plots here are on sloping ground with limited vehicle access to the house itself. We survey the carry route before quoting and size panels to the tightest turn, and we price the carry as its own line rather than burying it.

Hotels and guesthouses

Much of the commercial work here is mid-sized hotels competing on facilities. A compact thermal suite — sauna, plunge positions, a rest area — is a genuine differentiator at a fraction of what a Lagos hotel would spend, and the running cost is lower too.

Questions

Enugu: what people ask

Do we need a smaller chiller here?

Often yes. Cooler nights do real work, and we size against your site rather than a national figure.

Is the altitude enough to change the heater?

No. Enugu is well below the elevation where that correction begins.
