Rodrigues is an island off an island. Nothing about the building is unusual; everything about the logistics is.
One shipment, planned to the last bracket
Everything is prefabricated in Pamplemousses and sent in a single load with a packing checklist and a spares kit: an element, a thermostat, a cartridge, hose seals, fixings. We are not coming back for a bracket.
On-site work is assembly, not fabrication, and the programme assumes one visit rather than three.
Simple, robust, serviceable
Equipment is chosen to be fixable by a competent local hand with the spares we leave. Clever controls with proprietary boards are the wrong answer on an island where a replacement takes a month.
We write the maintenance routine for whoever is actually there, and we train them while we are on site.
Small properties, real demand
Most clients here are guesthouses and private homes rather than resorts. A single well-built sauna and a plunge, documented and maintainable, does more for a small guesthouse than anything more complicated.
