Compact answers for small plots

Town plots here are tight and the buildings often old Creole houses with timber floors and louvred windows. A two-person cabin, a slim plunge and a rinse point in about 8 to 10 m² gets used constantly; an ambitious installation squeezed into a courtyard does not.

Some of these houses have electrical installations that predate anything we would hang a 9 kW heater on. We survey the board before promising a heater size, and sometimes the honest answer is a smaller cabin rather than a rewire.

Old Creole fabric

Timber floors, louvred shutters and fretwork are worth keeping, and a wet room next to them needs a genuinely continuous membrane and real ventilation rather than an open window. Where a property is in a conservation-sensitive part of town we keep alterations internal and prepare drawings for anything visible.

Port on the doorstep

Everything imported into the Seychelles lands here, which means a Victoria project waits on trades rather than on shipping. It is also where we consolidate loads for Praslin, La Digue and the outer islands.
