What happens here

Timber arrives and is conditioned in this climate rather than a dry one before it is cut. End grain is sealed as it is cut, before any panel goes together — that step is invisible in the finished cabin and it is the reason our work survives on these islands.

Every cabin is dry-assembled in full in the yard, photographed, numbered and taken down again before it ships, so nothing is discovered for the first time on a hillside or halfway to Praslin.

Granite carving

Blocks are split and carved here: the inner bowl honed smooth, the outer faces left raw. It is dusty, slow work and it is the part of the business that could only exist in the Seychelles.

The consolidation point

Everything bound for Praslin, La Digue, Silhouette or a private island is packed here into a single load against a written checklist, with a generous margin of fixings and a spares kit. The port is minutes away, which is the whole reason the workshop is on this estate.
