Kisumu sits low on Lake Victoria, which makes it the hottest and most humid of Kenya's major cities and the one where a cold plunge sells itself hardest.
Low, hot and humid
At around 1,130 metres Kisumu is well below Nairobi, and the lake adds humidity on top of the heat. The altitude correction is small here and the ventilation requirement is large — humidistat extract on every enclosed room.
The chiller is sized closer to a coastal figure than a highland one, and shade matters as much as insulation.
